Catching some air in Canby

Riders with the ATV Big Air Tour did stunts while dodging tennis balls thrown by kids, during a show at the Canby Father's Day Air Show on Sunday.
CANBY — Sunday’s rainy weather may have cut the Father’s Day Air Show short in Canby, but the crowd gathered at the airport still got a chance to see some high-flying action. The ATV Big Air Tour put on a show at the Air Show, with riders John Langaas and Nick Rogers performing back flips and other stunts after driving off a specialized ramp.
For one stunt during the show, Langaas and Rogers dodged tennis balls tossed up by a group of kids on the ground.
The aerial acts planned for the Air Show weren’t able to fly due to the rainstorms that moved through southwest Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. However, there was still a good crowd who came to see the ATV show, and other events like a pancake feed and a display of model airplanes.
“We had an amazing crowd,” said Canby airport manager Matt Wagner. “We saw tons of smiles and great family time spent for Father’s Day. Our model airplane display was well received and our burger and pancake/waffle feeds were very well attended.”
