Wiering Joins Avera Marshall governing board
MARSHALL — Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center announced last week the appointment of Rhonda Wiering of Tyler to its governing board.
Wiering brings nearly 45 years of experience in health care. For the last 12 years, she worked with Avera@Home, Avera’s home care and hospice division, most recently serving as vice president of Clinical Growth and Innovation.
She worked in quality at Avera for eight years. Her health care career began at Avera Tyler, where she spent 24 years, starting as a registered nurse and going on to assume leadership roles with home care, clinic, long-term care and hospital operations.
Beyond her work with Avera, Wiering has served on numerous councils and committees with the American Hospital Association, Minnesota Department of Health and the South Dakota Association of Health Care Organizations.
“I am happy to welcome Rhonda to the board,” said Debbie Streier, Avera Marshall regional president and CEO. “Her deep understanding of rural health care and her leadership experience will be invaluable as we continue to advance health care services in our region. We are grateful for her dedication and willingness to give her time.”
“My heart has always been in rural health care,” Wiering said. “Living in a rural area all my life, I know the importance of ensuring the availability of quality health care services for people in our area. I’m happy to have the opportunity to serve our communities in a new way as part of the board.”
The Avera Marshall Regional board of directors makes decisions concerning the local governance of the organization. The board is composed of regional community members and representatives of the Avera system.
