MARSHALL — This month, the wait will be over for the new Marshalls store in Marshall to open its doors.

Marshalls spokespeople announced Thursday that the new location, inside the former Shopko building in Marshall, will open May 15.

“At Marshalls, we hustle every day to bring the good stuff to stores for consumers. With the opening of this store, we are excited to provide Marshall shoppers with high-quality, brand name merchandise at an amazing value,” Marshalls President Nancy Carpenter said in a news release.

The store’s grand opening will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 15, Marshalls spokespeople said.

In celebration of the new location, Marshalls will donate $10,000 to WRAP (WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Programs). Marshalls also has national and local partnerships with charitable organizations around the country, spokespeople said.

Marshalls is an off-price retailer with more than 1,200 stores operating in 48 states, as well as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Spokespeople said Marshalls offers a selection of merchandise in fashion, accessories, shoes, beauty, home, men’s wear, kids, and more.

The new store location in Marshall will have about 22,000 square feet of space. With the opening of the new store, the company said it plans to add about 60 full- and part-time jobs in the Marshall area.

Marshalls will occupy one of three renovated commercial spaces inside the former Shopko building. The first tenant to move into the building was Harbor Freight Tools, which opened in 2023. Building owners are also looking for a third tenant.
