Marshall man dies in Friday tree-cutting accident
GHENT — A Marshall man died Friday, in a tree cutting accident in Ghent, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday. The man was struck by a branch, and was pronounced dead at the scene, Sheriff Eric Wallen said.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call around 7 p.m., of a tree cutting accident on the 300 block of West Burlingame Street, Wallen said. A Marshall man was up in a tree helping with the cutting, when he was struck by a branch. Wallen said people at the scene saw something was wrong, and called 911.
Firefighters brought the man, identified as 42-year-old Miguel Antonio Ramirez-Monterroso, down from the tree, Wallen said. He was dead at the scene, Wallen said.
