Testimony continues in Broadmoor trial
MARSHALL — Testimony continued in the fifth day of the civil trial against the owners of Broadmoor Valley mobile home park in Marshall. Jurors heard additional testimony from an investigator with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.
Investigator Nina Grove answered questions about the condition of abandoned homes at Broadmoor Valley that were owned by Schierholz and Associates. Attorneys for Schierholz and Associates also cross-examined Grove on her testimony from last week, regarding late rent fees charged to residents of the park.
Defense attorney Alethea Huyser asked Grove about late fees charged to residents who owned their homes, but rented lots at Broadmoor Valley. Huyser said Minnesota laws capping late rent fees at 8% did not apply to residents who owned their homes.
