Check forgery case headed to trial
MARSHALL — The case of a Marshall woman charged with stealing from a local construction company will be headed to trial this summer, Lyon County District Court records said. Rikki Lee Kor, 49, appeared in court Tuesday for a settlement conference.
Kor is charged with 20 counts of check forgery, two counts of theft by check, and 14 counts of financial transaction card fraud. A criminal complaint alleges Kor stole thousands of dollars while working as an accountant at KHC Construction in 2023 and 2024. Kor allegedly issued checks to herself, and used a company credit card to make unauthorized purchases of items like gift cards.
At Tuesday’s hearing, an attorney representing Kor said a plea agreement had not been reached in the case. He entered a not guilty plea on Kor’s behalf, and asked for a jury trial, court records said.
Trial dates were set for July 28 through Aug. 1, court records said. A pre-trial hearing was set for July 22.
