County approves more space for SWHHS offices
MARSHALL — This week, Lyon County Commissioners approved contract changes that would let Southwest Health and Human Services expand its offices at the Lyon County Government Center. SWHHS was seeking to lease about 660 square feet of additional space on the third floor of the government center.
Lyon County Administrator Loren Stomberg said the additional rental space was something the county and SWHHS “had been talking back and forth about.”
Commissioners were presented with an amendment to SWHHS’s lease contract with the county. Under the amendment, SWHHS would be able to lease additional office space at the Government Center through 2026. The changes would bring SWHHS’s total amount of rented space to 31,187 square feet.
According to the amendment, rent for the additional space would follow the county’s existing schedule. In 2024, rent would be $11.50 per square foot a year. Rent would increase to $12 per square foot in 2025, and $12.50 per square foot in 2026.
SWHHS’s total rent would come to $29,888 a month this year. The total rent would be $31,187 a month in 2025, and $32,486 a month in 2026.
The lease contract amendment was also scheduled to go before the SWHHS Board at its next meeting, commissioner agenda materials said.
Commissioners voted to approve the proposed contract amendment.
