MARSHALL — Members of the Marshall School Board got a chance to meet two new district employees this week.

Tricia Stelter and Sarah Kirchner attended Monday’s school board meeting. Stelter will be the new director of operations at MPS starting July 1, and Kirchner will be the new director of finance starting July 8.

Earlier this spring, MPS Business Services Director Dion Caron said he would be stepping down from that position. Because of the amount of work Caron was doing for the district, school board members approved splitting his position into two new ones.

Superintendent Jeremy Williams said Stelter is a familiar face at MPS.

“She previously worked in the district office for 18 years as the executive assistant to the superintendent,” he said. “She spent two years away from MPS, equipping herself with a deeper understanding of various operational functions within an organization, which makes her the perfect candidate for this position.”

Stelter will officially become MPS director of operations on July 1.

“I just want to take a moment and thank you for the opportunity to return to Marshall Public Schools,” Stelter told the board. “It really, to me, feels like I’m coming back home.”

Williams also introduced Kirchner.

“Sarah has served as fiscal manager for Southwest Health and Human Services for about seven years, and then as CEO of Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care for about three years,” he said. “We are excited to have Sarah join our team, and share all of her experience with us.”

“Thank you guys for having me, and I appreciate your confidence in my abilities to keep things going here from a finance perspective,” Kirchner said.

She said she was looking forward to starting her duties.

Starting at $3.95/week.
