A facelift on Main Street

Siding project fixing issue of loose tiles on building at Third and Main

Photo by Deb Gau New siding has been going up on a building at the corner of Third Street and Main Street in Marshall. The new siding will address issues with loose tiles on the building facade, and give it a fresh look, property owners said.

MARSHALL — A building on Marshall’s Main Street has been getting a new look over the past week.

Workers have been removing tile from a building facade at Main and Third Street, and replacing it with new siding.

“It’s looking great,” said Vanessa Torke of Nessa’s Naturals, which is located in commercial space in the building. “People have commented on it.”

Once the building’s “facelift” is done, she said the awning and Nessa’s Naturals sign will be reinstalled.

The siding project is being undertaken by Coleman Management, which owns the building. The building had problems with tiles coming off the facade, which made a mess on the sidewalk and posed a safety issue, said Brad Meulebroeck of Coleman Management.

“We hired a local designer to give us some mock-ups of what our options would be,” Meulebroeck said. They went with a style of siding called board and batten.

“It should last,” he said.

Aside from the new siding, the biggest change to the building’s look will be that the Nessa’s Naturals sign lettering will be re-painted in black, Meulebroeck said.

“It’s really going to pop once we get it all done,” he said.

Meulebroeck said Buysse Construction has been working on the siding project. Everyone involved with the project has been good to work with, he said.

Starting at $3.95/week.
