BELVIEW — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man found dead at the scene of a one-vehicle crash on the Minnesota River north of Belview. On Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office said the deceased was Thaddeus Lorenz, 30, of New Auburn, Minn. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is determining the cause of Lorenz’s death, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Lorenz was found Friday, inside a vehicle that had crashed onto the Minnesota River, on the 43000 block of Harvest Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle did not break through the ice on the river.

The incident is still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Belview Fire Department and First Responders, CentraCare Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
