Body found after vehicle crashes into Minn. River

BELVIEW — The body of a male was recovered after a vehicle crashed into the Minnesota River on Friday, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed onto the Minnesota River on the 43000 block of Harvest Avenue, north of Belview. When responders arrived at the scene, they found a dead male individual inside the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said. More information on the person’s identity was not released. The crash is under investigation by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office.

The Belview Fire Department and First Responders, CentraCare Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office all responded at the scene.
