One injured in Hwy 14 crash

LAKE BENTON — A Holland, Minn., man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 14 near Lake Benton on Tuesday, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Austin Eugene Richardson, 29, received non life-threatening injuries, and was not transported to a hospital, the State Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday. A 2016 Ford pickup driven by Tray Michael Doom, 27, of Walnut Grove, was westbound on Highway 14, and a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Richardson was eastbound at the time of the crash. Richardson lost control, and the two vehicles collided with the Ford striking the Chevy on its passenger side, the State Patrol said.

Road conditions were snowy or icy at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Benton Fire Department and First Responders, and Tyler Ambulance all responded at the crash scene.
