A Brookings, South Dakota, man charged in connection with a high-speed motorcycle chase west of Tyler pleaded guilty to careless driving charges last week, Lincoln County court records said.
Carson Russell Bundy, 20, pleaded guilty to careless driving at a Nov. 9 hearing.
A criminal complaint said Bundy was speeding on a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 14 in August. According to the complaint, a Tyler Police officer on patrol observed Bundy accelerate his motorcycle to speeds greater than 100 miles per hour. When the vehicle reached 130 miles per hour, Tyler Police ended their pursuit, and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office pulled Bundy over, the complaint said.
At the Nov. 9 hearing, Bundy received a stayed sentence of 90 days in jail, a $400 fine, and supervised probation for up to one year. As a condition of his probation, Bundy must perform 20 hours of community service work, court records said.
Additional charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle and speeding were dismissed, court records said.
