Lynd, WWG school districts hold special elections

Tuesday’s elections in Minnesota included some school board races in area school districts. Both the Lynd School District and Westbrook-Walnut Grove held special elections this week to fill seats on their school boards.

The Lynd School District held a special election for one school board seat. Of two candidates on the ballot, Matthew Hoekstra received the most votes, the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office reported.

Matthew Hoekstra and Dennis Guza both ran for the Lynd School Board special election. Hoekstra received a total of 26 votes, and Guza received 21. There were no write-in votes, the Secretary of State’s Office reported.

The WWG School District also had one open school board seat that was the subject of a special election. There was one candidate, Tyler Hansen, on the ballot. Hansen received a total of 70 votes. There were 10 write-in votes, the Secretary of State’s Office reported.
