‘Kickoff’ to the holidays in Tracy

Parade floats, trucks and marching drummers all made their way through Tracy’s downtown on Saturday evening as part of the annual lighted parade. About 20 units participated, said Tara Brandl, a member of the Tracy Area Chamber of Commerce board. The event has grown over the past several years, she said. “It’s kind of the kickoff to the holiday season, and Small Business Saturday,” Brandl said. Businesses advertised special hours and events on Saturday. The light parade was a good way to encourage people to come downtown, and it also gave some exposure to two new businesses in Tracy, Brandl said. Both the Tattle Tales boutique and Squatch Coffee & Eats stayed open until after the parade.
