MARSHALL — A Sioux Falls, S.D., man appeared in court Tuesday on assault and weapons charges after allegedly brandishing a pistol in a fight in Marshall, Lyon County District Court records said.
Paul Daniel Schwartz, 18, of Sioux Falls, appeared in Lyon County District Court on charges of second degree assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless use of a dangerous weapon, intentionally pointing a gun, fifth degree assault, disorderly conduct and carrying a pistol without a permit.
A criminal complaint alleges Schwartz was in a fight reported on Lucille Street in Marshall the night of June 30. In the course of the fight, Schwartz got an AR-15 style pistol, and physically struck another person on the head with the gun, the complaint alleged.
A future hearing date for Schwartz was set for Sept. 26, court records said.
