MARSHALL — A little more than a year after the former Speedway gas station closed down in Marshall, workers with heavy equipment started demolishing the building.

On Wednesday, an excavator could be seen tearing down walls at the property, at the corner of Bruce Street and College Drive.

Last summer, Kwik Trip purchased the Speedway property, along with a neighboring property on East College Drive. At the time, a company representative said there were plans to build a 10,000 square-foot store on the property. Construction was planned to take place in 2023.

The former Speedway building was also the location of Domino’s Pizza in Marshall. The pizza business continued to operate out of space in the Speedway building until it moved to a new location further down East College Drive. Construction is currently ongoing at the new commercial building, located on the site of the former ExpressWay gas station. ExpressWay closed its Marshall station last August.

Starting at $3.95/week.
