Students at Lynd Public School had fun with service work this week. On Tuesday, students in the sixth and eighth grades visited residents at Boulder Estates in Marshall to socialize and to offer some technical help. At left, Uriel Ortega and Hector Morales played a game of cards with Myron Jerzak. At right, students also helped residents set up devices like tablet computers. The visit to Boulder was just one of the service projects students in grades 5-8 have been working on with social-emotional learning teacher Kathy Orthaus. Students knitted a total of 52 hats for newborns at Avera Marshall Medical Center, and on Monday they visited Hill Street Place to play games with residents.
