MARSHALL -- The Pride in the Tiger Foundation awarded $36,230 in teacher impact grants for public and private schools in March, bringing the yearly total for grants to $76,330.54.
Individuals within Marshall schools go through an application process, and those requests are reviewed by the Pride in the Tiger Foundation Teacher Impact Grant Committee, which makes a recommendation to the full PITF board of directors.
Teacher Impact Grants are awarded twice a year, in October and March.
Some of the grants awarded are:
• STEM expansion and science collaboration kits at Samuel Lutheran School.
• Omaha Enrichment Study and 9/11 Memorial virtual tour at Holy Redeemer School.
• Spelling blocks, phonics cards, and triangle flash cards at True Light School.
• Kindergarten painting party and Science of Reading materials at Park Side Elementary.
• Classroom library books and LCD writing screens at Southview Elementary.
• PAES Lab and FACS equipment at Marshall Middle School.
• Turnitin subscription and marching band prop frames at Marshall High School.
• Fleet Pro Tools for the soon to open CTI Center.
• Field trips at every school.
The Pride in the Tiger Foundation is a nonprofit organization that to provides financial and other support to activities and educational programs.
The Foundation will host its annual scholarship awards ceremony at Marshall High School on May 17 at 7 p.m. Graduating seniors will be awarded scholarships.
