Saying goodbye to winter

There were some signs of spring in Marshall on Wednesday. Perry DePover and Tom Brown, shown above, were out with a bucket truck taking down the snowflake-shaped winter decorations from light poles on Main Street. Marshall Public Ways Superintendent Dean Coudron said the city and Marshall Municipal Utilities share the task of taking down the winter decorations at the end of the season, with the street department handling downtown and MMU handling East College Drive. There isn’t really a specific date for the winter snowflakes to come down each year, Coudron said. It partly depends on if the weather conditions allow city crews to get to the decorations, he said.
