Lyon Co. fixes ice damage on emergency radio antenna

TRACY — Lyon County made repairs to part of its radio paging system on Thursday after damage was found on an antenna in Tracy.

Lyon County Sheriff Eric Wallen said the damage was found after the county experienced issues with the Tracy antenna during its monthly emergency system testing Wednesday. The county paging system uses radio antennas in six locations around Lyon County to communicate with emergency responders.

“It sounded like there was some ice damage to the (Tracy) antenna,” Wallen said. Technicians repaired the antenna on Thursday, he said.
