Marshall declares snow removal emergency
The city of Marshall is under a snow removal emergency from 12:01 p.m. Wednesday until Friday at noon, the city announced. Residents are asked to get parked vehicles off of street areas, to allow snow removal crews to work.
Snow removal operations will start in the downtown area and emergency snow removal routes, and from there they will proceed to major streets, intersections and residential areas. Vehicles still on the street during a snow emergency may be ticketed and towed.
The city also asked drivers to exercise caution around snow removal equipment. Drivers should allow at least 50 feet between their vehicle and snow removal equipment, to make sure operators can see them. Snow removal equipment may also stop or reverse directions at any time, or be spreading salt and sand on the roadway.
Other winter parking restrictions are shown on the city’s website, www.ci.marshall.mn.us.
