MARSHALL — Their first meeting was delayed by last week’s blizzard, but newly elected members of the Marshall School Board were formally sworn in on Tuesday.
Returning board members Jeff Chapman and Sara Runchey, and new board member Sara Brink, all took the oath of office at the start of the board’s first meeting of the year. As part of Tuesday’s business, elections were also held for school board officers.
Matt Coleman was elected school board president, and Bill Mulso was voted vice president. Runchey was voted clerk, and Brink was voted treasurer.
“I just want to say thank you to Jeff,” for his past leadership as school board chairman, said MPS Superintendent Jeremy Williams.
Brink said she has been learning about her new role, and talking to people in the district.
“There is a lot to learn,” she said. But she also said there were talented people working in the district.
“It’s an honor to be sitting up here,” Brink said of being elected to the school board.
