Residents from Hill Street Place bundled up to go for a ride through Independence Park to enjoy Light Up the Night on Wednesday. As soon as the sun went down and the Christmas lights turned on, volunteers drove the residents on a loop around the park.

Every year, Light Up the Night gives local assisted living residents a chance to see the light displays. Volunteers said they would also be taking Boulder Estates residents for a ride through the park this week.

Light Up the Night will continue at Independence Park through the end of December. The event helps raise funds for Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care.
