Lindsley hired as new Lyon County HR director

MARSHALL — Lyon County Commissioners approved the hiring of a new county human resources director this week, filling a position that had been vacant since this summer.

On Tuesday, commissioners approved a request to hire Tegan Lindsley as HR director. County Administrator Loren Stomberg said Lindsley was one of three candidates interviewed for the position. “We had three very good candidates,” Stomberg said.

Lindsley has worked for the county since 2013, and has 11 years of public sector human resources experience, county staff said. Commissioner Charlie Sanow said Lindsley would be working on an hourly basis as HR director, instead of it being a salaried position.

Lindsley was hired with a starting pay rate of $40.25 an hour, effective Oct. 18.

Former Lyon County HR Director Carolyn McDonald had resigned from the position this spring. At the time, county commissioners had been discussing the possibility of dividing up the duties of county auditor/treasurer between the county administrator and the HR director. However, after McDonald resigned, commissioners said their first priority was now to find candidates to fill the job vacancies for auditor/treasurer and HR director.

In June, commissioners voted to appoint Aurora Heard as auditor/treasurer, after conducting two searches for candidates. Heard started work in the position in July.

Starting at $3.95/week.
