Seven file for Marshall School Board
MARSHALL — Voters in the Marshall public school district should have a lot of choice when it comes to naming new members of the school board this year. As of the end of the filing period on Tuesday, a total of seven candidates will now be running for three seats on the board.
According to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office, school board members Jeff Chapman and Sara Runchey are running for re-election, plus a total of five challengers. The candidates are Heather M. Anderson, Sara Brink, Trudy J. Madetzke, Anne Marie Vorbach, and Ben Walker.
Area cities, including Marshall, are also holding elections in November. While Marshall just recently elected Amanda Schroeder to fill a vacant Ward 1 seat on its city council, there will also be a total of three council seats – one from each ward – up for election.
By the end of the day Tuesday, one candidate had filed to run for each council seat. John Alcorn is running for council in Marshall’s Ward 1. Alcorn had also run in the special election earlier this summer. See Moua-Leske is running in Marshall’s Ward 2, and council member Craig Schafer is running for re-election in Ward 3.
