MARSHALL– Marshall’s 150th celebration on Thursday kicked off with a fashion show through the decades.

The show started off with narration from Sheila Tabaka and Lyon County Museum Executive Director Jennifer Andries talking about the different clothing on the Mannequins starting from the 1870s. Six different models volunteered to exhibit the clothing from the various decades.

Karla Antony, Jessica Diekmann, Alayna Gruhot, Gina Meulebroeck, Amy Vankeulrn and Schmitz modeled clothing during the show.

“We have six models that are modeling clothing from the 1950s to the 1980s,” Andries said.” We have a few pieces from the 1930s we’ll be modeling as well. The Lyon County Museum helped out with supplying some of the clothing and also Tabaka being in the theater department provided some of the historical clothing as well.”

Andries said she was thankful to be able to get the models because of the clothing sizes.

Jan Loft brought enthusiasm and laughter as the emcee for the show.

The event was put together by the 150th committee which included Desiree Petrich, Andries, Sheila Tabaka, Courtney Schmitz, Norma Raske, Sarah Marczak and Loft.

“The 150th Committee started to get together about a year ago to find different ways to celebrate 150 years,” Petrich said.

“One of the ideas we came up with is doing a fashion show,” she said.
