Lyon County Board races draw multiple candidates

County attorney Maes not running for re-election; MN House, Senate races contested

MARSHALL —  Lyon County will have two contested races for county commissioner this year, according to candidate filing data from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office.

In Commissioner District 1, incumbent county commissioner Charlie Sanow will be running against challenger Thomas Dean Andries. The race in Commissioner District 2 will also have two candidates, Todd Draper and David Sturrock.

Steve Ritter, the current District 2 commissioner, said this spring that he would not be running again.
