Deutz, Vandendriessche named to new Avera leadership roles

Tracy Deutz and Bobbi Jo Vandendriessche have been named to new leadership roles at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall, Avera Health announced last week.

Deutz will move into the role of vice president of operations at Avera Marshall. Vandendriessche will become vice president of patient care services for the Avera Marshall region.

In her role, Deutz will serve as a member of the regional administrative council and will provide leadership in a number of areas at Avera Marshall including laboratory, imaging, long-term care, pharmacy, Avera@Home, eye care, therapy, call center, registration and environmental services.

She has worked at Avera Marshall since 2017, beginning in a leadership position in health information management and then adding business office manager to her responsibilities. She later advanced to her most recent role of revenue cycle director.

Deutz’s official start date in her new position will be June 12.

“I’m excited to get back to working more closely with our local team in Marshall and making a more direct impact on the service we provide family and friends right here in our region,” Deutz said.

“Tracy will be a great addition to our senior leadership team. She has great team-building and problem-solving skills that will benefit her and the organization in this new role,” Regional President and CEO Debbie Streier said,

Vandendriessche formally began her new role on May 1. She has oversight of inpatient services, surgery, emergency department, dialysis, cancer care, and cardiology at Avera Marshall.

She has managed some of these responsibilities on an interim basis over the last month.

She has served as the vice president of Avera Medical Group for the Avera Marshall region since February 2021. She has been with Avera Marshall since 2018 and previously served as the emergency department manager. Prior to that, she worked as a nurse practitioner in family medicine and urgent care with Affiliated Community Medical Centers in Marshall for four years.

“We have a talented, dedicated group of health care professionals, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to support and guide this team,” Vandendriessche said.

Streier said Vandendriessche is well-suited for this newly revised role.

“Bobbi Jo leads with positive energy, passion for quality patient care and confidence in the skills of her teams. As a nurse practitioner, her knowledge gives her the background to provide oversight of this expanded group of health care professionals,” Streier said.
