WABASSO — A boy injured in an accident with a vehicle Friday evening in rural Redwood County has died of his injuries, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said an accident involving a vehicle and a child was reported around 5:56 p.m., near the intersection of Redwood County Road 6 and Jade Avenue. The child later succumbed to his injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A news release from the Sheriff’s Office did not give the boy’s name or age.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the accident scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Wabasso Ambulance and Fire Department, CentraCare Ambulance, and North Memorial Air Care.
