MARSHALL — Members of the Lyon County Republicans and Lyon County DFL held county conventions last weekend. As part of the conventions, both groups elected delegates to attend upcoming conventions for Congressional District 7 and the state Republican and DFL conventions.

The Lyon County Republicans elected a total of 16 delegates to attend district and state conventions, said Lyon County Republicans co-chairman David Sturrock.

Delegates include John Alcorn, John Drown, Deb Hoganson, Mary Meffert, Ed Raff, Marty Seifert, David Sturrock and Gwen Sturrock from Marshall. Also representing Lyon County will be Karen Dalager, Rick Konold and Nancy Reisdorfer from Minneota, Dawn Vankeulen and Jeff Vankeulen from Eidsvold Township, Debbie Clark from Lynd Township, Donald Bethune from Custer Township and Daniel Zimansky of Tracy.

The 16 delegates will represent Lyon County at the Republican convention for CD 7, which will be April 29-30 in Willmar, and at the State Convention in Rochester on May 13-14.

The Lyon County DFL elected a total of five delegates to attend upcoming conventions, said chairwoman Anita Gaul. Delegates include Tim Buysse, Rosemary Martin, Craig Maki, Deb Maki and Mike Ross. The CD 7 convention will be held May 14 in Willmar. The DFL state convention will be May 20-22 in Rochester.
