One injured in ATV crash near Morgan

MORGAN — A Franklin man was severely injured in an ATV crash Saturday in rural Morgan, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to a one-vehicle ATV crash around 5:48 p.m. An ATV driven by Matthew Olson, 26, of Franklin, was traveling northbound on Redwood County Road 2 and about to turn east on 260th Street at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said. Olson missed the turn and rolled the ATV, the State Patrol said.

Olson was transported to a hospital in Robbinsdale with life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.

The crash is under investigation, with charges pending, a release from the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said. The State Patrol reported that alcohol was involved in the crash.

In addition to the Sheriff’s Office and the State Patrol, Morgan Ambulance, the Morgan Fire Department, CentraCare Amublance and North Air Care all responded at the crash scene.
