Two charged in Marshall robbery

MARSHALL — Two men arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Marshall in May are facing criminal charges, Lyon County court records said.

Leonte Laray High Town, 33, and Matthew James Williams, Jr., 29, made appearances in court Tuesday on separate sets of charges.

High Town is charged with first degree aggravated robbery and ineligible possession of a firearm. Williams is charged with first degree aggravated robbery and obstructing legal process. Criminal complaints allege that the two men went to an apartment in Marshall on May 15 and held the resident at gunpoint. They took a wallet and cigarettes from the apartment, the complaint alleges.

High Town and Williams were later located in Yellow Medicine County and taken into custody by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office.

Court records said a future hearing date was set for High Town on June 15, and a hearing date was set for Williams on June 29.
