Lucan Pretzel Days rolls along with Bohemian tractor pull

New event draws lots of laughter during 10 seconds of pulling 3,500-pound tractor

Photo by Mike Lamb The Grandma Fav’s team of Isabel, Gabby, Ameilia and Tess didn’t win the Bohemian tractor pull during Lucan Pretzel Days on Saturday, but they had fun trying to pull the 3,500-pound Allis Chalmers WC tractor 100 yards to the finish line.

LUCAN — Andy Warner and his three Chubs teammates followed a simple plan in winning the first-ever Bohemian tractor pull at Lucan Pretzel Days on Saturday afternoon.

“No strategy, just pulling,” Warner said

Warner, Zach Turbes, Michael Turbes and Andrew Turbes pulled a 3,500-pound Allis Chalmers WC tractor 100 feet in 10.94 seconds to beat out four other teams.

“This is new. This is the first time we tried it,” Lucan Pretzel Days organizer Greg Janachovsky said before the event.

He explained that he watched a Bohemian tractor pull in Montgomery at Kolacky Days.

“I thought maybe it would be something that would work for us. An activity to draw people in. Good family entertainment,” he said.
