Thursday was the last day of class for students at Marshall Public Schools — but it wasn’t just the end of the school year for West Side Elementary. This fall, students will attend the new Southview Elementary, and West Side will be decommissioned. On Thursday morning, West Side students and faculty gathered to celebrate the school and to say goodbye. Kids held a banner reading “Thank you Marshall.” As students shouted “West Side rocks!” staff set off a display of brightly colored smoke bombs and confetti.
