Two from Minneota to be ordained transitional deacons

NEW ULM — Two Minneota natives are among three seminarians of the Diocese of New Ulm will be ordained to the transitional diaconate in June, marking a significant milestone on their journey to the priesthood tentatively set for 2022.

Joshua Bot, and Tanner Thooft, both of Minneota, along with Nathan Hansen of Darwin, will be ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Emeritus John M. LeVoir at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. The public is welcome to attend.

The Mass of ordination to the transitional diaconate will also be livestreamed from the Cathedral in New Ulm on June 5 at 10 a.m., www.dnu.org/live-stream

All three are currently studying at The Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul.

Bot’s home parish is Church of St. Edward in Minneota. He is the son of Deacon Bruce and Juanita Bot of Minneota.

Thooft is also from the Church of St. Edward, Minneota. He is the son of Scott and Debbie of Lynd.

Hansen’s home parish is the Church of St. John, Darwin. He is the son of Deacon John and Ruthann Hansen of Darwin.
