The candidate filing period for municipal and school district elections that do not hold primaries opens on Tuesday. In Lyon County, there will be elections held for city council seats, township supervisors, and school board members. The filing period runs from July 28 through Tuesday, Aug. 11.

In Marshall, the office of mayor will be up for election in November, as will the seats of city council members Glenn Bayerkohler, Steven Meister and James Lozinski. On the Marshall School Board, the seats of board members Matt Coleman, Bill Mulso and Bill Swope will be up for election in November.

The filing period for Lyon County Board seats was May 19 through June 2. County Commissioners Charlie Sanow, Gary Crowley and Rick Anderson are all running unopposed for reelection.
