Two arrested in rural Granite Falls stabbing

GRANITE FALLS — One person was seriously hurt and two were taken into custody after a stabbing at a rural Granite Falls residence on Sunday, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting the stabbing at about 2:03 p.m. Sunday. Responders went to a residence on the 5400 block of 260th Avenue, a news release said. A 45-year-old man was transported to the Avera Granite Falls hospital, and later had to be airlifted to Sioux Falls. His medical status is unknown, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Two people were taken into custody by law enforcement. The incident is still under active investigation, but the Sheriff’s Office said there is no risk to the public at this time.

Granite Falls Police, Upper Sioux Community Police, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office all responded at the incident scene.
