Precinct caucuses are tonight

Feb. 25 is precinct caucus day for Minnesota political parties to set their platforms and choose local delegates to attend future political conventions.

Caucuses will be held in Lyon County for two major political parties, and there will also be events held in the area by independent candidates and the Libertarian Party of Minnesota.

When

All caucuses begin at 7 p.m. Registration begins at 6:30.

Locations

DFL precinct caucuses

• Marshall, at the Adult Community Center

• Tracy, at the Twin Circle Apartments community room

Republican precinct caucuses

• Balaton, at the Balaton Golf Course clubhouse (for residents of Balaton, Russell, Florence, and Coon Creek, Lyons, Rock Lake and Shelburne townships)

• Cottonwood, at the Cottonwood Senior Center (for residents of Cottonwood, and Lucas and Vallers townships)

• Marshall, at Grace Life Church (for residents of Lynd, Marshall, and Clifton, Fairview, Lake Marshall, Lynd, Stanley and Sodus townships)

• Minneota, at the Minneota High School conference room (for residents of Ghent, Minneota, Taunton, and Eidsvold, Grandview, Island Lake, Nordland and Westerheim Townships)

• Tracy, at the Tracy Area High School media center (for residents of Garvin, Tracy, and Amiret, Custer and Monroe townships)

Libertarian Party of Minnesota

• Congressional District 7 convener, 7 p.m. at Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort in Granite Falls

Independent candidate meet and greet

• Independent candidates Joshua Prine, running for Minnesota Senate in District 16, and Chad Enstad, running in Congressional District 7, will be holding a meet and greet event at the Marshall Perkins from 6:30-8 p.m.
