Food for Kidz

Marshall Middle School sixth-graders and seventh-and-eighth graders from True Light Christian School measured out ingredients for Food for Kidz packages Friday morning. Marshall Sunrise Rotary and Marshall middle schoolers needed 95,000 Food for Kidz packages to make the millionth meal assembled since its inception in Marshall 10 years ago and they hit the mark Friday, said Rotarian Larry Schiavo. “We made 99,700,” he said. Food For Kidz enables organizations to package and distribute nutritious meals to hungry children and their families around the world where needed. The Rotarians also brought 30 boxes of oatmeal packages and 15 boxes of the beans and rice packages to the Kitchen Table Food Shelf in Marshall.
