Tiger marching band places 3rd at MN State Marching Band Championships

The Marshall Tiger marching band placed 3rd at the Minnesota State Marching Band Championships on Saturday at US Bank Stadium.

There were 32 bands competing in four classes with Marshall competing in the 4A Class. The Tiger marching band also placed 3rd overall for the entire afternoon competition, which had bands from Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Nebraska in addition to the Minnesota bands, said band director Wayne Ivers.

In the evening Youth in Music Open Class Grand Championships, Marshall placed 4th narrowly being beaten by Eastview High School, Ivers said. Bands for the evening finals were selected by the four class champions and the top six next highest scoring bands.

This was the final competition of the year for the Tiger marching band and its 40 senior members.
