Fight injures three people in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD — Three people were injured in a large fight in Cottonwood on Monday evening, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 35-year-old Cottonwood woman was arrested pending charges in the incident.

At 5:44 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a large group of people fighting, causing multiple injuries, on Lindsay Drive in Cottonwood, the Sheriff’s Office said. County law enforcement, Marshall Police, Granite Falls Police, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Cottonwood Ambulance all responded at the scene.

One adult male was found to have significant but non life-threatening injuries, and two adult females received superficial injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said. The injured man was treated and released from Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.

A 35-year-old Cottonwood woman was arrested in connection with the incident, and held at the Lyon County jail pending charges against her. The Sheriff’s Office said all the people involved in the incident were known to each other, and there was no threat to the public.
