Lincoln County Fair opens with outstanding senior citizen

TYLER — The Lincoln County Fair opens tonight with the presentation of the outstanding senior citizen and the 4-H fashion revue.

Both events start at 7 p.m at the outdoor free stage.

The fair starts to heat up on Friday with several events, starting with the Prairie Ecology Bus from 1-7 p.m. and the ranch rodeo starts at 6 p.m. at the horse arena. A ranch rodeo is a traditional type of rodeo which teams of cowboys or cowgirls from different ranches compete.

Dream Weaver hypnotist steps onto the outdoor free stage at 7:30 p.m. According to his website, Randy Buker’s show is an audience participation event.

“Imagine seeing your friends or co-workers on stage speaking Martian as their primary language or dancing to Lady Gaga’s latest hits,” the website said.

The ag awareness breakfast kicks off Saturday’s schedule from 7-10 a.m., with the bake-off pies following 8:30 a.m.-noon. The Century Farm presentations will take place at 1 p.m. in the “Log Cabin” display.

The music starts at 2 p.m. with the Old Time Fiddlers, and the Larry Olsen Band takes over at 4 p.m. The evening will end with the Red Letter Band’s variety of classic country hits starting at 6 p.m.

Inside the open class exhibit building, the 4-H demonstrations will start at 4 p.m. and the Lincoln County Pork Producers will offer free pork sandwiches starting at 5 p.m. inside the same building.

The kiddie tractor pull starts at 5 p.m. near the secretary’s office and the bean bag tournament starts at 6:30 p.m. inside the Rainbow Pavilion.

On Sunday, the 4-H auction starts at 12:30 p.m. inside the 4-H arena and the small animal show follows the auction.

The musical entertainment returns with Kindred Spirits playing from 2:30-4 p.m. at the outdoor free stage. The band plays rock ‘n’ roll from the 1960s to today. The fair ends with the annual demolition derby starting at 3 p.m.
