Collision with deer injures motorcyclist
VESTA — A Franklin man was injured when his motorcycle hit a deer early Thursday morning in Vesta Township, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
Paul Woods, 61, was riding westbound on Minnesota Highway 19 around 5:30 a.m., when his motorcycle struck a deer, the State Patrol said. The collision caused Woods to lay the bike down.
Woods was taken to Avera Marshall Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. He was wearing a helmet.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Vesta Fire Department and Ambulance, and North Memorial Ambulance all responded at the scene of the crash.
