City of Marshall testing tornado sirens Tuesday

MARSHALL — People in Marshall may hear outdoor sirens today, but it’s not an emergency, the city of Marshall said.

Crews will be testing Marshall’s outdoor emergency warning sirens today, according to a post on the city’s Facebook page. If people hear the sirens Tuesday, they can disregard taking action on them.

Although there’s no cause for alarm today, the sirens are an important warning system for Marshall residents. The sirens are intended to alert people to seek shelter and emergency information in the event of severe weather, or other hazardous events, the city said.
