Aus wins bareback Riding at Calgary Stampede 2019

GRANITE FALLS — Tanner Aus of Granite Falls won the bareback bronc riding event July 14 at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo in Calgary Alberta Canada.

“This is life-changing money,” said Team Wrangler’s Aus after a 92-point effort on Yippee Kibits to win the $100,000 Calgary Stampede check in the bareback riding.

Every year since 1912, the city holds one of the largest rodeos in the world, the Calgary Stampede.

This year, Aus has won the Rodeo Corpus Christi (Texas); the Minnesota (St. Paul) Horse Exposition PRCA Rodeo; the Will Rogers Stampede (Claremore, Okla.), the Elizabeth (Colo.) Stampede Rodeo, the Jackson County Pro Rodeo (Bellevue, Iowa) and the Western Fest Stampede Rodeo (Granite Falls).

He is the son of John and Rae Ann Aus and is married to Lonissa Aus. He started competing in rodeo at the age of 9 and is a graduate of Yellow Medicine East High.
