Drug suspects appear in court

MARSHALL — Two people arrested by an area drug task force in April made appearances in Lyon County District Court, court records said.

Karen Tolliver, 33, of Tracy, and Ryan Murphy, 48, of Marshall, appeared at separate hearings on Tuesday afternoon.

Tolliver is charged with methamphetamine-related crime involving children. She was one of two people arrested after law enforcement executed a search warrant in Tracy. A criminal complaint alleges the search found meth-related paraphernalia in the presence of young children.

Court records said a judge found probable cause for the charges against Tolliver. A plea hearing was set for June 18.

Murphy appeared in court Tuesday on charges of first degree controlled substance crime, conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A complaint alleges Murphy possessed around 58 grams of meth, and had agreed that another person could ship the drugs to his residence.

Murphy was scheduled for a plea hearing on Tuesday, but court records said the hearing was continued to June 4.
