MHS speech team competes at Chanhassen & Mound-Westonka

The Marshall Tiger speech team officially kicked off its season on Saturday by splitting their team and competing at two tournaments. Varsity competitors saw success at the Chanhassen Tournament with senior Jenna Zeug advancing to championship finals and placing 6th overall. Senior Lexi Schnaser advanced in original oratory and placed 16th overall. Senior Elsa Black also advanced in original oratory and placed 20th overall.

Junior varsity team members competed at the Mound-Westonka Tournament. Senior Meredith Bock advanced to finals in prose and placed 2nd overall. Senior Lisa Mwarabu advanced to finals in drama and placed 4th overall. Junior Lydia Hurst advanced to finals in original oratory and placed 5th overall. Freshman Anna Rose in humorous, freshman Astya Black in great speeches, freshman Charlotte Pafko in original oratory, and Junior Malia Bloemker in prose all placed 1st in their respective categories the novice division.
