Vintage ornaments

Through Dec. 31, visitors at the Lyon County Museum in Marshall have a chance to revisit Christmas memories, with an exhibit of vintage holiday ornaments, Christmas cards, and more. Different styles of Christmas ornaments are on display on trees around the museum’s Heritage Room — everything from glass ornaments to crafted tree ornaments made with sequins (above). At right: lighted trees and an owl ornament add to the look of the Heritage Room’s front porch.

The Heritage Room preserves woodwork and fixtures from several historic Marshall buildings, and recreates the look of a historic parlor and front porch. Ornaments, antique furniture and other items for the Christmas exhibit were contributed by local residents Ann Carrow, Bev Kenyon and Barb Zick.
