‘So sad, so overwhelming’

Perfect Styles owners grateful to community

MARSHALL — In times of trouble, you find out who your friends are.

Lisa Myhrberg, the co-owner with Brenda Olsen of Perfect Styles, the salon that received fire and smoke damage Monday, said they are grateful for the community’s response.

“It’s been so sad and so overwhelming,” Myhrberg said. “Thank God nobody was hurt.”

They have been looking for an alternative space to do business since their shop at 348 W. Main St. is closed for repairs.

Myhrberg and Olsen will work out of Darrel’s beauty salon around the corner at 112 N. 3rd St., and massage therapist Kayla Lanners will be located at Premier Massage at 104 W. Redwood St.

To make appointments, customers can use the regular number for Perfect Styles, 507-532-7580, which will be patched into Myhrberg’s cellphone.

“I cannot believe the wonderful community we have in Marshall,” Myhrberg said. “People have been so wonderful. It brings tears to my eyes and keeps you going. Several salons reached out to us. Our church, First Lutheran, asked what they could do. Clients have brought flowers and food to Darrel’s. Brenda and I want to thank everyone. Marshall has been wonderful.”

Myhrberg said they hope to be back at Perfect Styles soon.

“Everything takes time,” she said. “Inspections take time. But we’re hoping to be back in a few months.”
